How to place an obituary:

  • Order and pay for the obituary online. To purchase your obituary, go to Shop. Select the state / region you wish to be notified by e-mail. If you would like notification to additional lists, please purchase those as well.
  • At the minimum, include the person's full name, birth date, death date, and city / state of residence. You may wish to view our helpful Obituary Checklist.
  • Email the obituary and photo(s) to .
  • If you are on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram and wish to have the obituary shared on your Facebook timeline or tagged in X and Instagram, please let us know and we will connect with you.

Obituaries can have one main photo, and then additional photos for the included photo gallery. Obituaries can have several pages of obituary text. If it goes beyond several pages, we can post an external document and link to it. See an example at the bottom of this obituary.

Obituary text should be sent either by standard email, or as a Word, WordPerfect, or Apple Pages attachment. Please do not send the obituary in Adobe PDF, because then it will need to be retyped.

Photos should be in color if they were taken in color. Photos should be sent as JPG attachments.
